About Me

Hello, Benneit Douglas is a nom de plume.tumblr_o0smwzmulU1u1g5cko1_500

I am a traditionalist, a Roman Catholic, a monarchist and a happily married father.

I created this space to try to share those things, because this is how I wish the world still was, how I believe the world can be again.

G.K. Chesterton wrote, “Tradition is the democracy of the dead. It means giving a vote to the most obscure of all classes: our ancestors.” Beyond that tradition preserves truth and aids us in establishing our identity. Tradition encapsulates beauty, love, joy, culture and heritage so that our identity becomes grounded in all that is good about ourselves and our family.

My ancestral heritage is predominately Scottish and German with English, Welsh, Irish, French, Swiss and Norwegian thrown in for good measure. Quite typical of an American. As such I was born in the American Southwest, educated in England and am currently residing back in the Southwestern part of the USA. I grumble about this frequently, mea culpa.

I am a convert to the Roman Catholic Church. I attend a local FSSP parish. That is a Latin Mass parish for the initiates. The ICKSP, the FSSP and the SSPX are each in their own way helping pass the Mass of All Ages on to the next generation of Catholics. May God bless them in their efforts.

I also love the Eastern Catholic Church. The Byzantine Liturgy with its beautiful singing is amazing and well worth visiting or joining. I readily admit that the icons of the Eastern Tradition stir my soul. Considering I was raised a Protestant I cannot ignore the zeal my Protestant brethren have for Christ and His Word, it is infectious. I pray that we could all lay aside condemnation and worship God together in His one true Church.

Monarchy is the best form of government and the only type I would feel allegiance towards. Christus Rex.

As a father of three small children, family dominates my life. All men are called to be fathers and so this blog will explore this as well.

The final aspect of my life that will be shared on this blog is the formation of my clan. My clan is my local group of men, friends and family who work and strive together to become better in each aspect of our lives.

I share my life and experiences in the hope that I can inspire others to live a more traditional life. One of ascendancy and growth, one of constancy and tradition. Never defeated but always joyfully moving forward into the Son.

I would love to hear from my readers, so please email me any time with your questions or feedback. If you just want to become involved, I would love to hear from you too. Oremus pro invicem.
